Work Philosophy: I am a born and raised proud work-a-holic who belives that loving your life comes from loving your work and giving 110% to everything you do. I believe that everyone has a right to their ultimate personal healthy and my professional mission is to empower people of all ages to take control of their life, health, and happiness through food.
Career Goals:
Work with youth athletes to help them grow with their performance goals through nutrition and reach their ultimate potential and encourage life long health and physical activity.
Create a business that includes programs for detraining and post athletics/veterans to transition after structured athletics/service, healthy personal and community event planning for adults and children, and connecting people with other online credible health resources.
Also interested in corporate wellness, community wellness, and childhood nutrition education programs that use art to increase learning/understanding.
Growing her future business thorugh community outreach involving healthy program and event planning, and using technology, social media, and increased web presence to engage the larger community.
Brief Biography:
Abby is a graduate student seeking a Master’s of Science in Public Health Nutrition. Her research interests include child nutrition education using art, healthy cooking education and recipe substitution, and athlete nutrition. Abby is originally from Springfield, Virginia and received a Bachelor’s of Science in Dietetics and Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from Virginia Tech. She enjoys running, hiking, skiing, making pottery, drawing, and country line dancing.
